One room down!

We are slowly getting settled in our house!  I am so happy to have more space.  I keep trying to remind myself to take it one room at a time, but I've been all over the place, lol.

We have all of our blinds up.  I can't live without blinds....don't want people looking inside of our house.  We also had ceiling fans and lights put in all the rooms.  Ceiling fans went in the family room and our master.  The other bedrooms got simple flush mounts and the morning room got a "chandelier".  Here are a few pictures.

We also have one room that I can check of the list.....the powder room, lol!  It's small and didn't take much to decorate.  I stuck with neutral stuff since we will paint it at some point.  Everything came from Target except for the scroll art work which came from Pier-1.

We have also purchased some new rugs which I really love.  They also came from Target when they had a rug sale a few weeks ago.

I have such love for Etsy.  They have some really nice and unique things that you can't find at regular stores.  Since being in our house we have had a solicitor....which I really dislike.  I know its a new neighborhood and we will have them, so I went ahead and purchased a nice little sign in hopes that they will stay away.   I also love to have things in my house that have meaning.  So I also purchased a little something as a keepsake for our new house.   Here are some pictures from the Etsy shops.

We have a meeting with our PM tomorrow morning. to go over some things we want fixed in the house.....I'll go into more detail after our meeting.  Let's just hope it's a good meeting.

  1. Very nice! I love your signs as well! I couldnt tell you how many times people came over...it was such a pain after the 100th visit. I couldve totally used your sign!

  2. Everything looks great! I love your chandelier and your ceiling fan! Did you go with the same ceiling fan in your master bedroom?

    1. We did get the same fan for our master. We love that it came with a remote.

    2. Thanks! We're starting to look at fan options for the master, since we're planning to install lighting as soon as possible after closing. I love the look of yours with only one light instead of the traditional 3 bell shaped lights. Where did you find it?

    3. All my lights came from Home Depot. We also dont like the 3 light fans so we were happy to see some without.

  3. I'm going to have to get the "no soliciting" sign! Great idea (I hate that ADT will come knocking on your door even if they see the Guardian sign).

  5. Hi from your neighbor down on Taylor Farm! My husband told me about your blog from the RHO group on Facebook. I LOVE your house. Our Sienna is great, but I'm so envious of the porch you have! Your decor is nice. I'm an Etsy and Target fan too. One of the first things we did was put up a no soliciting sign out front. The walk around sales people here have been awful and half of them don't even pay attention to the sign. Welcome to the neighborhood!! :)

    1. Hi neighbor! Not at all excited about solicitors. ADT already stopped by....I'm sure there will be a lot more when the weather warms up. Thanks for the welcome!

    2. ADT seems to be especially obnoxious. They're one of the main reasons we put up our No Solicitation sign. We got something like five visits from them in the first three months we were in our house along with several from other security companies as well. Not that it did any good but I finally complained to the company about the reps ignoring our sign - http://rewsienna.blogspot.com/2014/08/dear-adt-security.html

  6. YES to the "no soliciting" sign. I mean really people?! I actually hadn't even though of that until you mentioned it but we're going to be having a new baby a month or so after closing and that's the last thing I want is someone ringing my doorbell! Haha SO.. I will be on the lookout for buying that sign. I just hope they obey. ;) And love all your choices. Those rugs are perfect. And the chandelier is gorgeous. I feel that is the area I'm going to struggle is fans, rugs, and chandeliers.
